ClimbingSee the new Penmaen Head page for details of this crag complex, written by Mike Doyle CMC is an active club, with climbing meets arranged for each Sunday. The meets are advertised by email during the previous week and are also posted on this site. Members may also contact the meets co-ordinator by telephone should they prefer. Meets are usually held in Snowdonia, and in the past year we have visited (amongst others):
In addition to the organised meets several members arrange to go climbing in their own small groups during the week or at weekends. We hold beginners and improvers meets regularly. These are excellent opportunities for those new to climbing, or those simply wanting to improve their skills to learn from more experienced members of the Club. Staying in a hut (previously we have used Helyg or Cwm Glas Mawr) gives these meets a more social side too. Away trips are organised, and current plans include the Don Whillans Memorial Hut at the Roaches, a number of sports climbing trips and Alpine trips. More details are given in the events section. Climbing CoachingFor those that are keen to improve their climbing grade, CMC is now in a position to offer one-to-one coaching. Seven experienced members have kindly offered their services in that regard and can be accessed through contacting Mike Doyle, in the first instance, who has been appointed co-ordinator. It should be noted that this is an informal arrangement between members. Thursday evening Clwyd Rock meetsA number of meets are held on Thursday evening in the Clwyd area during the summer months. The locations are listed below - please contact Joss Thomas for further details.
Sunday Meet DetailsMartin Worthy will will post details of the weekly climbing meet on the club bulletin board. Existing and prospective members are welcome to attend. |
